We love pancake day in our house and with three Labradors we just can’t leave them out, can you imagine those eyes looking back at you? But we don’t want to feed them anything that isn’t going to agree with them.

Normal pancakes would contain too much sugar and fats for our dogs and as most dogs are allergic to wheat, we thought we would share a recipe with dog friendly ingredients and are easy to make and hopefully use ingredients you will already have in your cupboards.

2 ripe bananas

2 eggs

2 tbsp. whole grain flour (e.g buckwheat)

Coconut oil

Mush up the bananas in a bowl and mix in the eggs and the flour

Stir the mixture until smooth

Heat a non stick pan and add the coconut oil to the pan on a medium heat

When the pan is hot ladle some batter into the pan, tilting the pan to move the mixture around for a thin even layer

When the underside  is golden brown, flip your pancake and cook this side until golden brown

Take off the heat and let it cool

Serve when cooled
